Just Another Day at the Office for that McKinney Texas Cop

Written by on June 7, 2015

This cop’s performance is disturbing on so many levels. He took it upon himself to make a bad situation 100 times worse. I’ve rewound the video several times to try and see why he decided to go on a rampage, and put all the nearest black teenagers into custody.

The big, bad policeman and his ego was even macho enough to attack a teenage girl in a swimsuit. Was that the best course of action to take? How did he expect everyone else around him to react as he slammed her to the ground? Was he searching for a reason to pull a gun on a bunch of unarmed teenagers? Did he not expect those kids to run in that situation? Was he trying to make the situation look out of control, so his coworkers would have a reason to swarm in and arrest a bunch of kids? Luckily, he let the white kid continue to shoot the video.

My skin crawled as I listened to the young men sit there and beg this asshole to allow them to leave. The cop felt like he had some authority as he stood over them and pointed down with his condescending-ass finger.

If I had a son, I would coach him to sit there and remain silent until Daddy arrived if he were ever in that situation. I would teach him to never get in any type of ego struggle with the police. Just remain silent, and wait for me.

I’ve seen this happen dozens of times as I grew up on the South Side of Chicago. Life would’ve gone on for everyone in many situations if the cops would have handled things differently. Yes, they serve and protect us at times. However, many other times they make things way worse than they have to be. And nobody ever does anything about it.
