NFL suspends Donte Stallworth for 2009 season

Nearly 5 months to the day after killing a pedestrian in Miami Beach, the NFL suspended Cleveland Browns’ wide receive Donte Stallworth on Thursday for the entire 2009 season.

Stallworth will not receive any pay for the season & will be reinstated after Super Bowl XLIV on February 7th, 2010 in Miami, Florida.

The 28-year old Stallworth served just 24 days out of his 30-day jail sentence & cannot drive again in the state of Florida.

Donte’s football career has been mostly underacheiving, as his best NFL season came during the 2005-06 campaign for New Orleans after catching a career-high 70 receptions for 945 receiving yards.
