Weed grow houseCHICAGO, IL – Five-oh executed a search warranty for a South Side store front and came up on 400 marijuana plants.

Erwin Kupi, 35, of the 800 block of West 71st Street in the Englewood neighborhood, faces charges in connection with possessing more than 380 pounds of marijuana and producing more than 400 plants, according to a police press release. He was expected to appear in Cook County Bond Court today.

Now, what are the neighborhood weed smokers to do? They gotta drive all the way to the next block now.

Police estimated the street value of confiscated drugs at more than $2.5 million.

I’ve been a little closer to a couple of court cases involving drugs in the past that I would like to admit, and one thing I’ve learned is that the “estimated street value” that the system hands down is always, always a ridiculously exaggerated amount.

He was prolly sitting on about a million and a half dollars worth of shit… which is still a lot.

Kupi faces a charge of felony production of more than 200 cannabis plants, two felony counts of possession of cannabis, a charge of failure to register a firearm and a misdemeanor charge of having no Illinois Firearms Owner Identification Card. (ChicagoBreaking)
