The Cornell Big Red picked up their 1st NCAA Tournament win in six tries on Friday, as they had no problems disposing 5th seeded Temple 78-65 in Jacksonville, FL.

Senior guard Louis Dale led all scorers with 21 points, while senior forward Ryan Wittman (son of former NBA star Randy Wittman) put on a three-point barrage in the 2nd half to finish with 20 points.

Temple shot well despite the loss at 51.9%, but had trouble finding a groove beyond the arc as they shot just 5-of-17 (29.4%) from three-point range.

Cornell will move on to play 4th seeded Wisconsin on Saturday, as they’ll try to advance to their first Sweet 16 appearence in school history.
