Dick Butkus rips Brian Urlacher in Chicago Tribune..

There has been a recent feud going on with the Chicago Bears, as 6-time Pro Bowl linebacker Brian Urlacher raised some eyebrows with comments that were made about legendary running back Gale Sayers.

Hall-of-Fame Linebacker Dick Butkus has decided to comment on the matter, and he’s not very happy with Urlacher.

Urlacher said that Sayers was part of a 13-loss team in 1969 & also mentioned that he only made the playoffs twice in his 7-year career. It was in retaliation to Sayers’ comments that Urlacher might not return to form following wrist surgery that cost him 15 games last season.

Butkus suggested that Urlacher should learn his history before making such comments:

“It’s a real reach to say: ‘What did Gale do?’ Urlacher wasn’t even born yet, what does he know? I say things to other people, too, about the Bears. It’s total frustration. You think (Gale) is saying it because he hates the Bears? You get so tired of sitting there watching them. I think he is a little out of line by the way he is handling the whole thing and blaming the whole season on Gale. That’s uncalled for.”
