Despite scary weather conditions with winds gusting up to 50 mph, the New England Patriots’ offense didn’t miss a beat as they were able to rout the Chicago Bears 36-7 on Sunday afternoon from Soldier Field.

Tom Brady was interception free for the 8th consecutive game, as he completed 27 of 40 passes for 369 yards while throwing for 2 touchdowns.

The last play before halftime summed up the lopsided score, as Brady ignored his sideline’s plea to kneel down before connecting with a wide-open Deion Branch on a 59-yard touchdown, as that put the Patriots up 33-0 in front of a stunned crowd at Soldier Field.

Despite the blowout loss, Bears head coach Lovie Smith was still optimistic about his team’s playoff chances:

“It happens from time to time, especially against a good football team, but then you go back and this game counts as one loss, no more than that. We went into this game against the Patriots in first place in our division and we still are. We just have to take care of business from here on out.”

Jay Cutler had his worst game of the season to date, as he completed just 12 of 26 passes for 152 yards & threw a pair of interceptions.

Chicago ended the shutout on Chester Taylor’s 1-yard touchdown run with 8:36 to go in the 3rd quarter.

New England held the ball for nearly 40 minutes, while totaling 375 net yards of total offense with 124 yards rushing.

Thanks to Detroit’s 7-3 win over Green Bay, Chicago is still in 1st place as they will travel to Minneapolis for a Week 15 matchup with the Minnesota Vikings.

The Patriots will host the Packers, who might be without Aaron Rodgers after he was forced to leave today’s game with a concussion that was suffered during the 2nd quarter.
