Allen Iverson calls it quits..

Written by on November 25, 2009

Just 9 days after leaving the Memphis Grizzlies, 34-year Allen Iverson has officially announced his retirement from the NBA, which will end his 14-year playing career.

Iverson will definitely go down as one of the best players to ever put on a Philadephia 76ers uniform, as he won the NBA Rookie of the Year award (1997),  the Most Valuable Player Award (2001), won 4 scoring titles (1991, 2001, 2002 & 2005), made 10 All-Star appearences & also captured two NBA All-Star Game MVP awards (2001 & 2005).

Despite a couple of lackluster seasons to end his career, Iverson holds a career scoring average of 27.0 points per game, which ties Jerry West for 6th all-time in league history.
