The Washington Nationals made a surprise move on Sunday, as they signed outfielder Jayson Werth to a 7-year deal that will be worth up to $126 million.

The run ends Werth’s 4-year tenure with the Phillies, as he’s hit 20 or more home runs & driven in 65 or more runs in each of his last 3 seasons.

In addition to this, Werth led the National League last season with 46 doubles, which is a career-high.

He is also one of baseball’s best outfielders, as he’s only committed 22 errors in 869 career games.

Werth’s presence in the middle of the Nationals’ lineup will replace the loss of Adam Dunn, who signed a 4-year deal with the Chicago White Sox late last week.
